A few weeks ago students participated in persuasive presentations on a controversial genetics topic including: Genetically Modified Foods, Stem Cell Research, Cloning, and many more! Their goal was to persuade us on their view of their chosen topic.
In the past few weeks we have been discussing Charles Darwin and his theories on evolution!
We became naturalists like Charles Darwin, created our own "birds," and tested their adaptations. Then we discussed how these adaptations would help them survive and others would lead to their extinction.
Testing our birds! |
As an introduction to scientific classification we classified our shoes, our classroom was very stinky at the end of this lab activity!
In Language Arts we finished reading The Giver by Lois Lowry - Some students presented skits as their final projects while others created their own utopian society!
A few weeks ago, the teachers challenged a few seventh graders to a game of basketball!
The girl's basketball team has been doing a great job, as well!
Great job ladies! |
Amazing supporters and cheerleaders! |
Today we took our test on adaptations and evolution! All 7th graders scored a B or above! Great job everyone! :)
